During the month of October, FHANC received over 200 calls from all over the North Bay, an 30% increase from the prior year. Many of these clients shared with our housing counselors the harm they experienced when encountering discrimination; some face evictions, while other are denied the opportunity to rent as a result. Still others are homeowners in danger of losing their homes and need our foreclosure prevention counseling.
Without FHANC's services, our clients risk becoming homeless or living in an untenable situation. Without safe and stable housing, our neighbors cannot find or maintain employment, access quality health care, send their children to a good school, and positively engage in our community.
